Comeback Kid release new Trouble EP

March 15 2024

Today, Canadian hardcore punk rock heavyweights Comeback Kid released their anticipated new Trouble EP via New Damage Records.

Produced and recorded by the band and John Paul Peters (Cancer Bats, Propagandhi) at Private Ear Recording in the band’s hometown of Winnipeg, the Trouble EP is a testament to Comeback Kid’s unwavering commitment to pushing forward on their own terms. One of Exclaim!’s ‘most anticipated Canadian releases of 2024’, on their Trouble EP, Comeback Kid set out to create an almost palette cleanser from past material, leaning more upbeat, but still carrying the hard-hitting aggression they’re known for. With mixing and mastering from Grammy award-winning mixer and long-time fan of the band Will Putney (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die), you can hear the layers and depth of sound the band carved out in every track on the release.

The 4-track EP features the dynamic, infectious, tongue-in-cheek lead single “Trouble In The Winner’s Circle, the sure to be festival sing-along favourite, “Disruption, as well as, latest focus track “Chompin’ At The Bit”.

On “Chompin’ At The Bit” lead vocalist Andrew Neufeld had this to say, “Chompin’ At The Bit” is a melodic hardcore / punk tune that blends tight helicopter ( as we like to say, “thin” riffs ) on the verses – juxtaposed to jangling guitar choruses that turn the song into an uplifting major key!”

“Lyrically it speaks about the eager diehards. They are “chompin’ at the bit” so to say. The underdogs trying to find their way through the weeds, through the scolding doubt of their peers, sharpening their craft to actually get to where they need to be….Learning along the way and trusting in the process….”
