There are two kinds of people in this world: people who coast through life and people who grab life by the balls, spit in its face and scream ‘SHOW ME THE PARTY!’. High Tension are the latter.
High Tension consist of Karina Utomo and Ash Pegram (Young and Restless), Matt Weston (The Nation Blue) and Damian Cowards (Heirs, Love Like Electrocution).
In 2012, the world was introduced to High Tension via their debut single High Risk High Rewards, a catchy shredfest that barrelled its way around the internet and blogs to critical acclaim. A EP and album Death Beat soon followed and High Tension found themselves living the dream – touring with Karnivool, The Bronx, High On Fire and playing to capacity crowds at SXSW and Dark Mofo.
As a final kiss on the dick, Death Beat was nominated for Best Hard Rock Album at both the ARIA and AIR awards, providing that High Tension could chug champagne with the big boys but also down a tinnie with the indie community.
With high expectations, High Tension went into the studio with James Balderston in Adelaide and busted out 12 ripper songs for album #2 Bully. Bully is the perfect soundtrack to flying down the highway, tinnies in the back and no room for fucks to give. ‘Sports’ is riff-fest ode to giving 110% while tracks like ‘Iceman’ and ‘KBL’ are Motorhead style 2 minute ‘blink and you’re a pussy’ corker. Guest spots include Matt Young from King Parrot and grunge heroine Adalita.
Get slammed up against the locker and have your lunch thrown in your face by Bully. It’s harassment of the best kind
